International cooperation

According to WHO cancer caused 7,9 million deaths in the world in 2007 - more than HIV/aids, tuberculosis and malaria combined. More than half the new cancer cases globally occur in developing countries. Norwegian Cancer Society has therefore formally adopted international cooperation as one of five objectives.

Information sources for patients and next of kin

Norwegian Cancer Society's written and webbased cancer information material is mainly provided in Norwegian. Still, the helpline offers information in Norwegian, English and Sami, and there is a vast number of information sources externally.
